I spent two consecutive mornings watching and painting the sun rising through the early morning mist to capture this iconic view in the Val d’Orcia. Region, near Siena in Tuscany. We were not disappointed intact it was the perfect venue to capture the magnificent skyline.
The Val d’Orcia is the set of five municipalities areas:
San Quirico d’Orcia in the heart of the valley – Pienza at 10 minutes– Montalcino at 10 minutes– Castiglione d’Orcia at 15 minutes– Radicofani at 20 minutes.
In the year 2004 The Val d’Orcia has been declared Unesco World Heritage, as a perfect example of the harmonious relationship between human presence and nature
