Well bugger me. Just hung the new addition to the family Alan. Received lunchtime. We love the way the light catches the wings then dies down as you move around.

Dear Alan, We are delighted with the limited edition print of Beadnell Harbour, Northumberland.
Beadnell Bay is part our favourite walk from Seahouses to Low Newton-by-the-Sea, especially when the Artic Terns are busy collecting Sandeels, and are being so very noisy.
It is a beautiful area, captured perfectly in your artwork. The artwork has also been tastefully mounted and framed. Thank you for taking such care with the packaging – it arrived in perfect condition and we couldn’t be happier.

Dear Alan and Susan I have just received the original of Lindisfarne Priory and was quite overcome.
Although a small work the quality of the frame and mount is outstanding and brings out the best features of the picture. it feels very special and something I will treasure for years to come

We have three of Alan’s paintings of Edinburgh and I commissioned him to paint a view our home in the Tyne Valley.

His gallery in Ponteland has beautiful array of his own and other artists painting on display this coupled with the warm welcome and the hospitality received form both himself and his lovely wife Susan make a visit very worthwhile.

We came home last night from Portugal, where we had been celebrating my birthday on Tuesday with the children and grandchildren.
Now, I am the ever so proud and thrilled owner of the most marvellous portrait of me. I have felt both ecstatic and overwhelmed. Diana had erected it suitably on her easel.
When she called me up to see my present from her, and I saw my portrait, (actually I was wearing the same jumper), I just started shaking with excitement.
Unusually for me, I was struck dumb, and did not know what to say. Now a little recovered, I can tell you directly how thrilled I am. It seems a bit self centered to say so, but I think it captures the very essence of me. Just perfect.
Thank you so much for taking so much effort to capture the very being of me. I am thrilled. Please give my very best wishes to Sue, too. We both enjoyed both our original Easter visit to your home, and our wonderful week with you in the summer, and hence we are both equally looking forward to next year.
You cannot imagine how happy you have made my celebration week, for my larger birthday number than I really like to think about.

A Huge Thank You

Dear Alan & Susan I just wanted to say a huge thank you for hosting such a wonderful trip to Umbria and, in particular, to Chiesa del Carmine.
Bobbie and I enjoyed every aspect of the holiday and it was exactly the introduction to that part of Italy that we needed. Chiesa del Carmine was even more delightful than we had imagined and the staff were amazing.
They couldn’t do enough for us!! We really enjoyed the trips out and I managed to cope with the dilemma of ‘to sketch/paint or not to sketch/paint’. In the end, having a great interest in seeing the sights and exploring the wildlife, I struck a balance. I restricted my re-aquaintance with sketching and painting to the first three days of the holiday and that certainly whetted my appetite so I’m sure I will picking up from where I left off soon (I learnt some significant lessons from Alan).
The travel arrangements for pick-ups and the 3 trips all went smoothly and the catering was exceptional. The wine-tasting and pizza making experiences were extremely enjoyable, not to be missed!! ….and what an amazing group of people you managed to assemble and keep in order!!! I thought there was great chemistry in the group, with much humour and bonhomie.
This in itself was a fantastic part of the holiday, given the range of backgrounds, ages and interests. Thanks especially to you both for the way you looked after things, ensuring there were no issues and that we were all comfortable.
You were wonderful hosts. I would specifically like to thank you for arranging my birthday cake – that was a great surprise and Assisi was definitely one of the best places I have ever spent my birthday.

Hi Susan and Alan, Yve and I had a great time at Chiesa Del Carmine with you!!
You have found a truly exquisite spot to host your painting holidays. If a potential painter isn’t inspired by the beauty of the surroundings, they have no chance of becoming an artist. Having said that I was inspired, but ……
You assembled an interesting group of people – all very different, and the fact that we got on so well is testimony to your warmth, hospitality and perhaps the excellent food and wine which was always plentiful, tasty and flowing!!
You organised a brilliant schedule of visits. I enjoyed them all, and I am sure I will remember the places much better than previously as you honed our observational skills. Susan – nothing was too much trouble for you.
You paid attention to every detail, and if anything was lacking, it was quickly rectified. Alan – as everyone will acknowledge, you are a terrific artist, but you are also an outstanding teacher, as was evidenced in the ‘show and tell’.
We had all made significant progress. Personally, I shall dream in lemon yellow forever more, and my nightmares will feature taps and scrubbing bushes.

Painting Holiday at Chiesa del Carmine September 2019
Dear Alan & Susan, I would just like to express my delight at being able to join you and all the other fellow artists at Carmine as this was truly a wonderful experience for me.
I was in awe of the many beautiful paintings from these artists believe me as I felt quite rusty by comparison, but I will try to improve. The lovely trips we had to Perugia, Gubbio and Assisi were truly inspiring and I will remember them always.
The food each day was absolutely delightful and one looked forward to the evening dinners especially, not forgetting the wine of course.
Thank you Susan for looking after us all so well and to you Alan for your kindness and patience with all our art tuitional needs. Wonderful group of people and it was so enjoyable to meet them all.

Central Arcade, Newcastle
Central Arcade Print Newcastle Many thanks for the ‘Theatre Royal at night’ print. I am a great fan of your work and first came across it a few years ago when in Newcastle.
I bought a print of Central Arcade, as I always loved the Arcade when I was growing up. I was brought up in Darras Hall and moved to London when I was 18.
The Central Arcade picture I ordered from you last month is a wedding present for one of my best friends, who grew up in Medburn. Although most of us from school are now down here, we visit the North East when possible.
The whole package of the Newcastle, Northumberland, the people, football on match days can’t be found anywhere else in the world.
I hope to visit your gallery when up there later in the year.
