Tyne Bridge and Quayside

£3,000.00

In 2017 I received a commission to do a very large oil painting of the Angel of the North. The Angel’s wings were coated with 22 carat gold leaf.

This inspired me to then paint the Tyne Bridge and Quayside using gold leaf.

You can watch a short video on YouTube of me painting some of the details of the Tyne Bridge, quayside Painting.

Angel of the North

In 2017 I received a commission to do a very large oil painting of the Angel of the North. The highlight of this wonderful painting is the Angel’s wings. They are coated with 22 carat gold leaf.  We then discussed a second commission to go alongside the Angel, this time of the Tyne Bridge.

Gold Leaf

I’ve decided to do a smaller preparation painting in oils with gold leaf. I checked that everything was going to work out in terms of colour.  The composition and where on the painting to apply the gold leaf.
