Rodin’s The Kiss Watercolour Print | Paintings and Prints of Rodin’s Kiss – Alan Reed
The Kiss
Using watercolour, arguably the most difficult of all mediums, and a limited palate, I’ve wanted to capture the coolness and hard form of white marble.
A giclee print taken from my watercolour painting based on two charcoal drawings and a small watercolour painted on location in the National Gallery, Edinburgh.
Print arrived of the kiss thank you, and so pleased with it.
It is going to be the perfect ‘Silver Wedding’ gift for my son and daughter-in-law.
Once again, ‘Thank You’, R Etherington

Original Watercolours Of Rodin’s Kiss
An original watercolour painting of Auguste Rodin’s famous marble sculpture.
This original watercolour has been painted on hand-made Fabriano Esportazione which is no longer being manufactured. The very rough textured surface is incredible to paint on in watercolour. You can create some amazing textures and “wet on wet” effects.
National Gallery Edinburgh
The Staff at the National Gallery of Scotland were busy making space to accommodate the famous sculpture by Auguste Rodin. Which was loaned to the Capital in 2014 as part of a very special agreement with the Tate in London.
The magnificent sculpture drew in huge crowds when it went on public display from March 1st. It was the first time it was ever shown in a Scottish gallery.
And in the manner of many an awkward first kiss, getting everything into place wasn’t entirely straightforward. Starting with the delivery of the sculpture delayed so that adjustments could be made to get the imposing marble plinth into the gallery after its drive north.
