Painted in July 1994 this original watercolour of the 8th Hole Turnberry on the Ailsa Course is likely to have been a preparation study for one of my father’s larger paintings of this scenic course.
The sky is painted with typical economy, the green is the focal point with the golfers surveying its contours, however there are other areas of interest, in particular the distant Turnberry hotel and clubhouse.
One of his oil paintings of the 8th Hole, Turnberry of the Ailsa Course is also available as a limited edition print.
