It includes glimpses of the Swing Bridge and High Level Bridge but was painted before the modern addition of the Millennium Bridge to the sky line. Of course the floating nightclub is no longer a part of the scene either, however it still captures the essence of Newcastle Bridges over the River Tyne.

Tyne Bridges Newcastle

The seven famous bridges across the Tyne, which link the city to Gateshead on the south bank of the river are from west to east. The Redheugh bridge, King Edward VII Bridge, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, The High Level Bridge, the Swing Bridge, the George V Bridge (or Tyne Bridge) and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

One of seven road bridges crossing the River Tyne, the Grade II* listed bridge was officially opened on 10 October 1928 by King George V and has since become a defining symbol of the North East.
