Rome Paintings
I took the metro line from Rome’s city centre east to Parco degli Acquedotti. The Parc boasts fine examples of sections of aqueducts built by Emperors Claudius and Hadrian.
It was later afternoon so I sketched “en plein air” two quick studies which provided the inspiration for this studio painting. It shows the fragmented section of the aqueduct built by Claudius against the backdrop of an autumnal afternoon sky.
Adorn the walls of your home or office with paintings and Prints of Rome.
The Park Rome
The park is named after the aqueducts that run through it. It is crossed on one side by the Aqua Felix .
And also contains part of the Aqua Claudia and the remains of Villa delle Vignacce[2] to the North West. A short stretch of the original Roman Via Latina can also be seen.
The park is near the Cinecittà film studios and is often used as a film location. In the opening shot of La Dolce Vita, a statue of Christ is suspended from a helicopter that flies along the route of the Aqua Claudia.
