We took our guests from our painting holiday in Umbria, to the picturesque hilltop town of Anghiari in Tuscany. It’s famous for a battle that took place between Milan and Florence in 1440.
The enticing narrow streets and alleyways provide plenty of subject matter for the guests to paint. I did a couple of small sketchbook watercolours of this scene on the spot which provided inspiration for this larger studio painting.

Whilst on our Alan Reed Painting Holiday
in Umbria we took our guests to the picturesque hilltop town of Anghiari. We painted all day in the warm sunshine. We were so fortunate with the weather that we enjoyed sketching in Corciano, Montone and Arezzo Too.
