Oman

I knew very little of Oman until 2005 when I was commissioned to do two paintings for a client there. I quickly became fascinated by this ancient land so I began to read up on its history. In 2007 I visited this beautiful country in the Gulf which has such a diverse landscape. It has a breathtaking coastline with crystal clear waters, dramatic mountain ranges and vast barren deserts. In the south (Salalah) there is a verdant landscape in the summer months. The Khareef waters the parched ground and flowers appear. The culture is fascinating. The Omani people are very friendly and you always feel safe. I have a large collection of Omani Fort Paintings available for sale. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many artists have found themselves without work, teaching, technical support and gallery work. Exhibitions and sales have disappeared.

In an attempt to help alleviate some of this stress Martin Burrows has instigated the ARTIST SUPPORT PLEDGE

The concept is a simple one. Artists post images of their work, on Instagram which they are willing to sell for no more than £200 each (not including shipping).

Once I sell sell 5 of my paintings, I pledge to buy another artists work for £200.

This generous strategy was initiated by Matthew Burrows @matthewburrowsstudio and it has been successful in helping artists worldwide.

Anyone can buy the work. Every time an artist reaches £1000 of sales, they pledge to spend £200 on another artists work.
