1997 US Women’s Open

£6,500.00

An Original Gouache Painting by Ken Reed

One of my father’s most moody, atmospheric US Open posters. The 1997 US Women’s Open was played at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club 7th – 13th July in Portland Oregon.

The pumpkin coloured clouds add a classic Art Deco mood to the swirling composition. The wonderfully executed contours of the green and foreground bunker take your eye to the subtly painted clubhouse peeking through the conifer trees, skilfully painted using counterchange.

A close up photograph shows the skill and appreciation of my father’s hand painted lettering, beautifully painted in gouache.
