I originally painted this scene to be reproduced as a Christmas Card for a North East Charity.
Due to popular demand I have decided to publish it as a limited edition print with only 45 in the edition.
It is to replace a similar watercolour I painted of the Theatre Royal in 2008 which was published as a limited edition print and is now sold out.
I have used a limited palette of cool greys to convey the stark bleakness of winter in the North East.
However, the dash of red for my granddaughter's coat as she braves the elements, holding her grandmother's hand, offers both a focal point to the painting and a sense of good things to come.
