A recent study depicting Newcastle’s Theatre Royal at the top of Grey Street, in a flurry of snow. Its deliberately monochromatic, with the exception of the little girl, (my granddaughter, Emily) huddled under her Mother’s umbrella, whose coat is bright red, providing an important focal point in the painting.
Dear Mr Reed
Thank you for sending me the limited edition print which I am truly delighted with. I apologise for not contacting you sooner, due to all the work on my new house I have only just got round to unpacking it. I am sure it will be gracing my new home for many years to come. You are a truly talented artist, I love your work. With very best wishes Lesley R - Cheshire
After several days of often quite animated discussion, and much moving of pictures from wall to wall, we are finally agreed that Theatre Royal in the Snow should take pride of place in our living room. We have a great affection for the Theatre Royal, for its architecture, and for its location at the head of the elegantly pleasing Grey Street, all captured so beautifully in your painting. For us it is more than just a picture, it epitomizes many years of happy memories of Newcastle and provides us with daily spiritual refreshment.
Thank you so much. Wyn and Rob
