I really enjoy doing pen and ink drawings. There’s something deeply satisfying about dipping a lovely old fashioned pen into a small pot of sepia ink.
When working on location I’ll often do sketches in biro rather than carry bottles of ink.
This small Original Pen and Ink drawing is on handmade watercolour paper and is of two Arabian Dhows resting on the beach at Sur in Oman.

Oman
Watercolour in Oman Landscape featured in the Oman Observer.
The Diwan of the Royal Court commissioned 30 works by Alan Reed. Including a deserted fort and village in Jebel Akhdar. ‘Jebel Akhdar, Oman’ won Alan Reed the 2013, ‘Artist’s Prize of the Royal Watercolour Society’ . The paintinging was subsequently exhibited in a London gallery.
We visited Diana’s Point because it is named after Princess Diana of Wales who visited Jebel Akhdar with Prince Charles in November 1986.
