Durham School v St Paul’s School – Print

£159.00

Durham School v St Paul’s School in the Veterrimi IV final on 3rd November 2013.

This was a historic event that saw the oldest rugby clubs in the world play off in a fantastic tournament which is one of a kind and only happens every two years.

The painting of such an event is not only a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture the event itself, but even more so for the parents whose sons featured in the match.

An opportunity to possess a painting of them playing is unlikely to occur again in their rugby careers.

The original watercolour painting is now available for purchase

Durham School Rugby v St Paul’s School

Veterrimi IV final on 3rd November 2013.

This was a historic event that saw the oldest rugby clubs in the world play off in a fantastic tournament which is one of a kind and only happens every two years. Durham School Rugby has a brilliant reputation for Sports of all Kinds which you can read here.

The painting of such an event is not only a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture the event itself, but even more so for the parents whose sons featured in the match.

An opportunity to possess a painting of these boys playing is unlikely to occur again in their rugby careers.

Durham School

My latest limited edition print is this scene of Durham School v Rugby School playing in the final of a mini rugby tournament. The inaugural Veterrimi IV Rugby Tournament, hosted by Durham School, took place on Saturday 23 October. Despite the unrelenting rain, rugby fans turned out in their hundreds to be part of this special day. The two teams battled it out in the final, with the A J Dingle Trophy finally going to Rugby. As with other rugby games I’ve painted, I spent time recording aspects of the game in my sketchbook. I used the sketchbook studies and reference photographs to pull together these large watercolour. It captures the autumnal weather and the wonderful setting of the school as well as the action of the game.
