My paintings of Bamburgh Castle have proved to be immensely popular like this iconic scene of the castle.

There can be few castles that boast such a commanding view of beautiful unspoilt beaches.

Over the years I’ve painted the castle early morning on location at dawn where you are one of only a handful a folk on the beach.

Bamburgh Castle and Beach

My Christmas Exhibition opened up on Saturday 11th December. The exhibition features new original paintings and limited edition prints. Including this beach scene of Bamburgh Castle Northumberland.

Despite COVID restrictions, I’ve never been so busy, juggling my painting business with the Outreach work I do for North East Charity Junction 42.

 

Watercolour Painting

I started one late winter morning as the sun began to rise over the sea. It was a magnificent scene that was a joy to paint. As I worked I couldn’t help thinking why the whole world was not here to enjoy the beauty of what I was experiencing. I was alone, apart from the odd person walking their dog. The print, (seen above in a deep edged mount) is taken from an original watercolour painted in the studio and can be purchased either online or from my studio and gallery in Ponteland.
