Balevullin Beach, High Tide, Tiree – SOLD – Original Watercolour Painting

£200.00

In May 2017 we planned a painting trip to a Scottish Island called Tiree. We stayed in a holiday cottage there called An Caladh which means “rest place by the sea” for three nights and hoped that its name would live up to expectations. It did!

The nearby beach of Balevuillin is a favourite haunt for surfers and I could see why as the waves rushed in.

I found a suitable vantage point and tackled two watercolours of the beach, one in my sketchbook, the other on a 12″ x 9″ Arches Block.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many artists have found themselves without work, teaching, technical support and gallery work. Exhibitions and sales have disappeared.

In an attempt to help alleviate some of this stress Martin Burrows has instigated the ARTIST SUPPORT PLEDGE

The concept is a simple one. Artists post images of their work, on Instagram which they are willing to sell for no more than £200 each (not including shipping).

Once I sell sell 5 of my paintings, I pledge to buy another artists work for £200.

This generous strategy was initiated by Matthew Burrows @matthewburrowsstudio and it has been successful in helping artists worldwide.

Anyone can buy the work. Every time an artist reaches £1000 of sales, they pledge to spend £200 on another artists work.
