A great view of Newcastle's Tyne Bridge and the city beyond.
This view of the Tyne Bridge was painted from the Gateshead side of the Tyne, which most people haven’t seen in real life and yet still resonates with those who love the Tyne Bridge and Newcastle’s skyline.

I spent two consecutive mornings watching and painting the sun rising through the early morning mist to capture this iconic view in the Val d’Orcia, a territory near Siena in Tuscany.

A dark, threatening sky was always going to be a prerequisite to any painting of the architecture to ensure that the sunlit stone work above the colourful shop facades stood out to provide suitable weight to balance out the heavy shadow areas on the left of the painting.

I received Victoria Street this afternoon and it's just so perfect. My wee red car's in it too!
I know "my" Alan will love it. It's so good to know I have a wedding present for him that is just right and has such special meaning to us both.Thank you so much for the Heriot's print too. It resulted in a happy "awww" from my kids. They have many happy memories of being at that school. How kind of you. Your work is really beautiful......and the framing is just what I wanted.Thank you again. A Chalmers - Edinburgh

The original watercolour painting was sold some time ago. It has now been reproduced and is available as a signed print.
The painting was inspired by sketchbook watercolours painted around the Italian city of Vicenza in the Veneto region of Italy.

On a recent trip to Amsterdam I was inspired to do some watercolours on location of these windmills set in the Dutch landscape.
Looking into the early morning sunlight creates a sense of peace, stillness and tranquility to this iconic scene.
This is a limited edition print taken from the original watercolour titled "Windmills at Dawn"
