Ponteland Exhibition

Ponteland Memorial Hall is hosting this years Ponteland Art Festival. Around 10 local artists will be exhibiting their work on Sunday 12th May 10am – 4pm. I will be showing a selection of original paintings and limited edition prints along with other well known artists like Mary Ann Rogers and Walter Holmes.

I’ll be showing some local scenes of Newcastle the north east coast as well as watercolours of Italy and Mallorca.

I’ve had a busy start to the year with a number of interesting commissions. One of my clients is recording an album. He’s asked me to do the cover which is proving to be interesting. It’s not the first time I’ve worked on an album cover. Back in the 1980’s I was one of three artists that worked on a cover for heavy metal band called Blitzkrieg. Some of these images may be seen at Ponteland Art Festival.

This one will be very different, both in subject matter and in musical genre. The client hopes that the CD will help raise awareness for the charity Watford Mencap. I’ll be posting images nearer completion.

Ponteland Memorial Hall has been at the centre of Ponteland community life for over 100 years. This year’s Ponteland Art Festival will be showing 10 local artists exhibiting their work on Sunday 12th May 10am – 4pm.

With stage, catering kitchen, licensed bar, dance and exercise studio, car parking and a capacity for events upto 300 it is the ideal venue for all events including weddings, parties, conferences, dances, performing arts, markets and fairs, festivals, award ceremonies and much more.
