My Easter Exhibition is on Saturday 8th April at our Studio & Gallery in Ponteland. There will be some new local scenes on display including Grey Street and scenes of the Tyne Bridge. We will be open from 9:30am until 5pm.
Prison Art
Over the last 12 months I’ve been busy teaching prisoners to draw and paint in one of the regions prisons. This has been for the North East Charity Junction 42.
I’ve also had the opportunity to work on some interesting painting commissions. These have ranged from an oil painting of an hotel in Marrakech with gold leaf to a watercolour of Venice. With some of the other subjects the clients have asked me to paint family members in to the scene to make the painting more special and personal.
However I’ve still had time to produce some new paintings including some from trips to Scotland last summer.
Italy Paintings
I’ve also been reminiscing through older watercolours and sketchbook paintings that I’ve produced on location. The painting above of a beach on Iona is a large watercolour based on a watercolour painted on location in the rain in 1998. The watercolour below of rooftops in Rome is a variation of a painting I did in 1998 from the rooftop of the hotel we were staying in.
We’ve also published some new limited edition prints over the last year, so customers will be able to add some new paintings to their collections. I look forward to seeing you at our Easter Exhibition.
