Original Watercolour Paintings
My Christmas Exhibition opened up on Saturday 11th December. The exhibition features new original paintings and limited edition prints that I’ve painted in-between painting commissions.
Despite COVID restrictions, I’ve never been so busy, juggling my painting business with the Outreach work I do for North East Charity Junction 42.
Online sales have been higher throughout COVID with orders coming in from around the UK and overseas.
Paintings of Alnmouth
Subjects include the new paintings I did for a client in Alnmouth. At the start of the year, I did fresh scenes of Lindisfarne, and Beadnell. In February I also painted new watercolours of the boats at low tide at the estuary in Alnmouth. I enjoyed revisiting the area so much that we returned in the summer with the family. I braved the cold of the north sea for a swim with my grandchildren.
Paintings of Italy feature in my Christmas Exhibition. Although we haven’t been able to travel to Italy since 2019, I’ve been able to derive inspiration from my sketchbook studies painted on location.
Il Campo in Siena is just one of the Italian paintings you can see in my Christmas Exhibition. Paintings of Venice, Florence and Umbria are also available.
Christmas Exhibition December 18th
In the summer I was able to spend some time at the base of Grey’s Monument in Newcastle and paint Grey Street. My simple watercolour sketch sparked off this studio painting of Susan walking towards the Theatre Royal with our niece Catriona. Paintings of Newcastle remain as popular as ever. There’s still time to order framed prints for Christmas.
The next open day for our Christmas Exhibition is Saturday 18th December. However you can visit on other days by appointment. Telephone 01661 820 626 or 07718 741 546
